~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- New Orleans. The city of Jazz, romance and the place where she had traveled to, to find a job. There was about an hour left on her shift at the restaurant she was working at, but she was ready to leave. She made her way around, passing out the last of the orders as people called her over. Rolling her eyes, as some of the drunk men tried to hit on her like always. It was always like this, late at night, but needing the job, she kept her mouth shut, and her face hidden, behind her hair. Heading toward the back of the restaurant, after taking out the trash, she yawned, ready to head back to her apartment, hoping her room mate was already passed out drunk, or was out for the night, as she was getting a slight headache. Yeah she would go home and pass out alright, pass out from exhaustion. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Making her way back to her apartment alone, she kept to herself as rain began to lightly fall, then fall harder and harder. She ducked under a coffee house hang over that was above the door. Sighing, she put on her hood and continued to walk past the buildings. This would be a lovely time to own a car, sadly all the money that she worked jobs to get, went to rent. Darn government taking her funding. Darn her for turning eighteen last year. It would be a year, tomorrow that she would have been on her own. Know one knowing or caring what happened to the nineteen year old. That was the trouble with this era. She had her coat around her as she walked, passing by buildings and now the small community park, that marked the half way point to her apartment. As she passed, she noticed a shadow, near the tree she normally sat by to think. When she was not working at the restaurant, or some other odd job for some people around the city, she came here to think. To think of what was going to happen in her life. To think of what she wanted in life. She caught his eyes for only a quick second, she broke into a quick walk by, and when she made the corner, broke into a run. Red. They were a cruel hated red. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- As she made it back to her apartment, she quickly unlocked and opened the door, shutting it quickly and locking it. Her back was to the door and she slunk down, trying to catch her breath. She could still see the red eyes in the back of her mind, trying to forget them. But it was not as if she had seem them on the Television or in her mind if she read a book. They were real. At least she thought so, and she was pretty sure she was not going crazy. Finally catching her breath and her nerve, she got up and looked around the room. The place had clothes everywhere, bottles and cans of soda and beer and empty pizza boxes. Fiere shook her head. Why did she have to be the adult in the apartment? Her room mate was one of those girls who was twenty one and thought she could do anything she wanted. At least Emily help pay the rent with her side job. That’s all Fiere could asked. After cleaning up she got ready for bed, after a shower, and sat in her room with her notebook/ journal in her hand. The red eyes still wanted to haunt her as she could not get them to leave her mind and began to light sketch them. Again there on the page, despite them being only a sketch, she quickly closed the book and got up to put it away. Looking slightly out the window, Fiere noticed that something was standing across the street, she quickly locked her window, and close the blinds before she caught a glimpse of the man. Soon and finally, the exhausted Fiere fell into a restless sleep, waiting for the sunlight to come through her nightmares that she held, and waiting for the morning. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- The nightmare haunted her mind for what seemed like forever, when she laid there. It was about eight in the morning, when she heard something outside her bedroom door. Wondering if it was her room mate, finally wondering home, Fiere had gotten up and dressed quickly into a white skirt, a tanish- color loose off the shoulder blouse, with a belt around her waist and a pair of shoes, after a quick look in the mirror she ran a hand threw her hair and went to the door. Unlocking, she heard whispering outside it along with movement. She opened the door and jumped back a little to see her room, surprisingly not with a hang over, along with some of her roommates friends, who Fiere really did not like as some were about twenty-three/ twenty-four year old males who did their best to just annoy the girl ever so slightly. Again, she was surprised to see a cake with her name on it and about nineteen candles on it. Some party for the celebration was short, as most of them went off to work, and no one would be around afterwards to celebrate as usual during Friday nights a group of them would go out and spend the night away, leaving her alone. Making her way threw town she passed the park and looked around for the stranger who had haunted her from the night before. Not seeing him/ her around, she plopped herself down next to a tree and pulled out a book to read. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- After sitting there for a couple hours, she was already half way threw her book. Fiere put her book down, marking her page, and took a look at her watch. She reached into her bag to pull out a sandwich and an apple that she usually had and began to eat, taking in the scenery and the people. She tried not grabbing attention to herself as she watched families enjoying the summer sun. She looked away with a silent sigh, as she finished her small lunch quietly. Looking up at the sound of her name, she saw her room mate, talking exactly about the weekend. Apparently a group of her friends where going camping tonight, and wanted Fiere to go, in a way to celebrating her birthday. She was not working tonight, so she thought, why not? Fiere was surprised they were inviting her, as the girl didn’t really hang out with them. She smiled a little and headed back to the apartment to get ready for the weekend. After she packed a few change of clothes, a couple other things she needed, she and her room mate, met up with the others and made there way out to the woods. She suddenly got the feeling they where being watched, as she felt eyes on her neck. But actually wanting somewhat of a happy birthday she pushed the negative thoughts away, for now, as they made their way to the spot. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- As the sun was setting, Fiere and her roommates friends were sitting around a fire laughing and joking. Well they where, not Fiere. Of course they would get drunk, she should have known, and now it was kind of to late to leave. She continued to look around the dark woods around them as the others continued to drink, not noticing the dark evil feeling going up her spine. There it was again, that feeling they where being watched. As some of the guys where drinking bottle after bottle one noticed that she was not directly there drinking with them. Fiere did not know his name, she just knew him by face as another one of Emily’s friends. He came over to her, wrapping his arm around her, offering her a drink. When she declined he pushed her back and offered one again. Shaking her head she got up and moved but he followed getting a little irritated. He was a player and he didn’t like the answer no. He would not go for it. Two by two she watched as the drunken friends go into the forest, until it was Emily, Emily’s boyfriend, her and whoever Emily’s friend was. She quickly got up as no one was helping her and went into the forest on the path. She ran, hiding behind a tree as she heard her name beginning called. After awhile of watching him go further in she took a breath and continued to walk, trying to figure out how to get back, until she noticed something on the ground. Slowly going over to it and bending down to get a better look, she noticed a face. “EMILY?!” She got up in terror, backing up into another body of her roommates boyfriend. She ran, trying to make her way back to camp, but with terror being more and more lost. That’s when she saw the eyes. The blood hungry red eyes she saw the other night, and she stood there frozen in fear. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Alexander Hellsing -sort ironic about the last name- had been watching Fiere for awhile, more like a few months now. No he was not being a stalker, he had come to New Orleans in order to get back in contact with some old friends. It was until then, when he first spotted her that a scent was so strong and delicious to him. There was something about her that screamed she wanted and needed something so bad, that she herself did not know what it was. As their eyes had locked the other night he knew that she had seen him and he knew that it was time. Not to strike per say as if to really kill her, but to give her an actual chance at happy ness. He knew, despite seeing her for only a few months what she had been through. No longer considered a child but not yet an adult. He hated seeing the fear in her eyes, as he hated when they screamed. More of when they ran; but she just seemingly stood there. Seemingly, to shock to say anything or move. As Alexander approached her, their eyes continued to be locked on one another, and he removed the piece of hair out of her face, and creased his fingers on her neck. He could feel the warm blood speeding up as her heart raced faster for what was about to come. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Her mind told her run, but her feet and legs couldn’t respond. He had killed her roommate -even if they weren’t friends, she was as close to a friend Fiere would ever have- her roommate’s friends, and she was next. Fiere never thought she would die until after, if ever, she was married, had a few kids and die wonderfully warm in her bed with her love, never like something out of a horror movie/ book. As he approached her, she could feel her heart racing and tried not to shake with fear running through out her. She felt his pale cold hand stroke her face and neck; moving her hair off her neck and out of her face. Fiere closed her eyes, feeling silent tears going down her face, wondering if it wouldn’t hurt as bad as she would relax. She was not one who like physical pain. That’s when she felt his lips at her neck. Kissing it softly, then biting into her flesh, right then she could feel herself going limp into a pair of strong but gentle arms. As she laid there, her mind wondered. It was pitch black but nothing was as bad as the sensational burning she felt throughout blood and body. She wanted to scream, beg to make it stop but she could not find a voice. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Alexander (Alex) did not take long with her. He didn’t want to take her life, and found the control to stop, as he held her loosely he looked at her already place face. She just seemingly took the pain rather well. Well enough then any of the others, where they had just begged for death. Since she did not seem to move he wondered if the shock had killed her, up until he felt her shake a little bit, like maybe what you would call a nervous twitch. Alex took her back to the camp and laid her in the tent that the others used for camping, and simply watched her for a moment before leaving the tent and staying outside as to keep well watch. He now wondered if what he had done was a good thing or not, but in three days he was willing to explain to her exactly what had happened and help her along if she wanted it. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Fiere had never been in so much pain in her life and it was a very crucial three days. When the time finally came to where she opened her eyes, she felt a growing thirst in her mouth and sat up. Her eyes where no longer their pretty chocolate brown, but more of a blood red color. She looked at her hands seeing how pale they had become. Trying not to panic, that was not on her mind at the moment. Looking around, she unzipped the tent and made her way outside. It was dark, obviously night as she vaguely remembered. Everything in her path of vision seemed to intact now and so clear. Dry blood was in the air, but it did smell sweet. Hearing foot steps behind her, the girl quickly turned seeing him. He was as pale as she was and she took a step back weary of this stranger. He stood there watching her, glad she made it through. He held up his hands in front of him, as if saying he was not going to hurt her. “Please, I’m not going to hurt you; but to help you. My name is Alexander Hellsing; and I am of what you are.” He explained what she had become and took her hand as she stood there taking it all in. Hunting did not seem to be that hard when it came to animals, but the thought of it just sent a shiver down her spine. She was frightened and she didn’t want this. The thought of it hurt her more and angry, now how was she suppose to find herself? The tips of her hair was on fire, and it was not until Alex told her where they went out quickly. That was when she found out that being very angry set her power off. Which was an okay thing as she never got angry that often. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Hunting was hard for her and she did not like it all in the bit; but in the end she could not help it. The bodies of her roommate and closest best friend had been piled up around the campsite, beer bottles all around them. The scene would be best described as the young adults getting drunk, passing out and attacked by wild animals, which eventually did happen when Monday had come around. Fiere side sadly, knowing she would have to leave New Orleans soon. She had gone back to the apartment to get things situated. Alexander had left, at least she thought, to go see his friend, and she was once again left in the world, with no one but herself. Looking around her room, and the apartment for a final time, after the movers had moved out all the others items in the room that belonged to Emily. Fiere herself did not have very much of anything, but a few bags. She did get to inherit Emily’s car, but she sold it thinking it would just be easier; at least for now until she got situated. After being here for the longest of six months she know wondered where else she would go to find where she finally belonged now. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
